The Tien forum was created by Dr. Hsing Kung, chairman of Monte Jade West in 2006, (previously named Monte Jade Forum since 2004). The Tien forum is in the memory of Chang-Lin Tien, who was the seventh Chancellor of the University of California, Berkeley (1990–1997) and the first Asian to head a major university in the United States. The Tien Family officially bestowed the title on Monte Jade West.
The Forum focuses on bringing stories of great Asian community exceptional leaders to the next generation of leaders.
