Peter Christy

Co-founder & Principal Analyst

IRG

 

Peter Christy is co-founder and the principal analyst at IRG, a boutique market research and strategy firm in Silicon Valley that specializes in infrastructure – the intersection of networks and systems. IRG has done work for a wide range of companies from the largest to startups. Prior to IRG Peter held senior engineering and management positions at a variety of systems companies including Apple, Sun, IBM, HP and Digital. He was a founder and VP of Software at MasPar Computer. Peter’s background has given him a broad understanding of diverse technologies and forms of systems, as well as the financial and management issues of product development. IRG publishes an industry newsletter – Infrastructure 2.1 – when contains commentary by Peter and his partner John Katsaros as well as current industry news.

 

 

Bharath Chandrasekhar

Senior Architect

Trend Micro, Inc.

 

Bharath Chandrasekhar is a senior architect in Trend Micro’s Enterprise R&D group working primarily in Virtualization and Cloud Security. He has been with Trend Micro for 6 years. Prior to Trend Micro, he worked as a developer/architect at Cisco Systems, Vina Technologies, and Hughes Software Systems. Bharath is a regular contributor to Trend Micro’s cloud security blog (cloudsecurity.trendmicro.com), most recently on the topic of Cloudbursting, and he holds multiple patents in web filtering and security. 

 

Bharath has an MS degree in Software Engineering from San Jose State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from JNT University, India.

 

 

Sumit Dhawan

Group Vice President & General Manager

Citrix Systems, Inc.

 

Sumit Dhawan is group vice president and general manager of the Receiver and End User Services Group for Citrix. He is responsible for establishing Citrix Receiver as the market leader in self-service access to desktop, apps and data from any device, anywhere. He drives product and go-to-market strategy and plans for desktop virtualization solutions with a focus to capitalize on emerging opportunities with the consumerization of IT.

 

Prior to his current role, Dhawan has been one of the key leaders in driving product, marketing and Go-To-Market strategy for XenDesktop product and has positioned Citrix as a leader in the desktop virtualization market.

Dhawan also led product strategy and roadmap for the company’s flagship product line, Citrix XenApp, and led the growth of this product line to generate $1 billion in revenue in 2007. Since joining Citrix in 1998, he has held leadership and strategy positions for a variety of product lines and markets.

 

Dhawan has over 18 years of experience within enterprise software industry. Dhawan holds degrees in both business and science, with a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Minnesota. Dhawan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology.

 

 

Phil Montgomery

Senior Director of product management,  VMWare, Inc.

 

Phil Montgomery runs Product Management for all Desktop products at VMware, including their Virtual Desktop Infrastructure product, VMware View.  He has a strong background in security, including Product Management with a focus on security at companies such as Blue Coat Systems, Citrix Systems, and Novell.  Phil has launched numerous startups, including a recent company focused in the mobile security space. Originally from Australia, Phil is located in the SF Bay Area and works out of the VMware Palo Alto Campus.

 

Bhanu Panda 

VP Sales & Business Development, Array Networks

Bhanu Panda is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in the computer networking industry and is a frequent speaker at events worldwide. Prior to joining the Array Networks founding team, Bhanu held executive management positions at several successful startups that went public including Alteon Websystems and Auspex Systems.  He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab University and a MS in Computer Science from Jackson State University.
