Khailee Ng Managing Partner of U.S. Venture Capital Firm 500 Global Khailee Ng is a managing partner at U.S. venture capital firm 500 Global and its 500 Southeast Asia family of funds. He has led more than 180 seed investments in Southeast Asian tech startups, including unicorns Grab, Carousell, Bukalapak, Carsome, Prenetics, and other regional champions. Prior to 500, he was the founder of Groupsmore (acquired by Groupon) and Malaysia’s largest online media company, Says.com (acquired by Media Prima). As new technology and evolving consumer landscapes continue to disrupt industries, Khailee focuses on discovering patterns of economic opportunity and backing the entrepreneurs who realize them. Binh Tran Co-Founder & General Partner of Ascend Vietnam Ventures Binh Tran is the co-founder and General Partner of Ascend Vietnam Ventures, a seed stage venture capital firm investing in Southeast Asia's next wave of market-leading tech companies. Prior to Ascend Vietnam Ventures, he co-founded 500 Startups Vietnam in 2016, one of the first tech-focused seed stage VC firms in Vietnam. He and his team have invested in the seed rounds of companies such as Axie Infinity, Applyboard, Outreach, and Turing. Prior to investing, Binh co-founded Klout, the Kleiner Perkins-backed social analytics company in San Francisco that was acquired for over USD$200M in 2014. Binh currently resides with his wife and two kids in Ho Chi Minh City.


Saemin Ahn Managing Partner of Rakuten Ventures Saemin is the Founding and Managing Partner of Rakuten Ventures circa 2013. Based in Singapore, Saemin drives the global investment direction of the vehicle, taking positions in various verticals such as Machine Learning, AI, Direct to Consumer, and Consumer Applications. About the Moderator


Peter Chu Board Member and Advisor to Startups and Growth Companies Peter is currently a board member and advisor to startups and growth companies in fintech, education and media. He is engaged with the Bay Area community through educational and professional organizations. He was the CFO and VP of Product and Strategy at BroadVision, Inc. Prior to that, Peter was Managing Partner at AsiaTech Ventures and Senior Advisor at Inspirior, LLC. Peter has extensive experience in investment, strategy and operational growth of cross-border companies between US, Japan and Greater China. As an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and strategic advisor, Peter has served as Co-founder, Chairman, and CXO of various tech, venture and advisory companies throughout his career. Peter holds a BSEE degree from Stanford University and an MBA degree from Harvard University. He was formerly the Chairman of Monte Jade West and guest lecturer at the Stanford GSB.
